Veteran journalist Jennifer Mossop has seen the world from both sides of the microphone. After spending more than two decades working in television, radio and print journalism, Jennifer became the Member of Provincial Parliament for the riding of Stoney Creek. She was immediately appointed as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Culture and Vice Chair of the Cabinet Committee on Communications. She also served on the Education Policy Cabinet Committee, the Standing Committees on Justice and Legislative Assembly, and as Chair of the South Central Caucus.

Jennifer became a household name in the Golden Horseshoe as a reporter, producer and principal anchor with CHCH and ONtv. Jennifer later joined CBC Television News as an anchor and writer.

She produces documentaries, shows, and videos, including a successful travel series and contributions to the Discovery Channel. As a columnist for the Hamilton Spectator, she analyzed the media and won the Reader’s Choice Awards for a special series on the humourous journey to motherhood, over forty. She was a special contributor to the Toronto Sun’s election coverage.

Over her career in journalism, Jennifer has interviewed major players in all fields, including an exclusive interview with Prime Minister Jean Chretien, during his last bid for election. She has covered and written thousands of stories covering every facet of government, industry and community, as well as such major news events as the September 11th terrorist attacks, the State Funeral for Pierre Trudeau.

It is this bank of experience that Jennifer brings to her own communications company, Mossop Media. She has been in business since 1986, providing a wide range of communications services, most notably, strategic planning and implementation, media training and presentation and performance coaching, documentaries and videos, news releases, writing for all purposes, and she specializes in workshops on media relations and government relations communications. Jennifer has volunteered her time and energy for countless events and charities, but made a particular commitment to children, as an in-school mentor with Big Brothers and Sisters. She is married to musician Dave Betts, and has one daughter, Aylish, and SPCA pup, Ben.
